“We get invited to Tarcoola (nursing home), children read, play games, sing, participate in the Easter Parade, four times per year usually, Tara Hospital for Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week, students participated in a smoking ceremony, acknowledgment, sang an Indigenous song. Children are learning Silent Night in language.”  St Joseph’s School Officer 

St Joseph's School, Tara is ever present in the Tara community with the school’s active involvement and support for the following events and organisations. 

  • Tarcoola Retirement Village - students perform for the residents and patients at Easter, Christmas and in Seniors Week 
  • ANZAC and Remembrance Day ceremonies - students march and attend services representing their families and the school
  • community cultural days, NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Day, World Day of Prayer
