St Joseph's Primary School Catholic Schools

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians

Welcome to the website of St Joseph’s School Tara.

St Joseph’s is a small rural school with a big heart and a commitment to learning. St. Joseph’s school is a community of care and learning. We provide safe and happy environments to develop the whole child: spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally and socially. This care for all in the school community springs from our Catholic belief in the unique value of every person created in image and likeness of God.

Relationships are warm and friendly. Parents, students, teachers and pastors see themselves as working in partnership. The children belong to a community that cares about each one of them by demonstrating every day the values of inclusivity, kindness, forgiveness, love and compassion. Learning takes place in an atmosphere of respect for each person’s dignity and uniqueness.

Our school’s is focused is on student achievement and wellbeing, so that every student achieves academic success and comes to know the loving presence of Jesus in their lives.

The school offers professional and dedicated staff who endeavour to deliver a curriculum that is both exciting, challenging and innovative. Student engagement is enhanced by the integration of technology in the form of interactive learning devices in every classroom.  Our professional learning community of teachers and school officers, work collaboratively towards creating the ideal learning environment for every child.Expectations of achievement and conduct are high. While there is a focus on the individual child, a broad curriculum caters for a wide range of interests and abilities. In partnership with parents, students are equipped with the learning and personal skills necessary to help them take their place in the twenty-first century.

Written parent feedback after a Term one Open morning of being with their child as they learn was most positive:

It’s good to see how they learn so much during the day. The children are happy to learn and have fun learning.  I liked the reading strategies used with my child. I can use these at home when teaching my child to read as well. I feel more confident to help her now. My child is getting better each day. I realise just how much you have all worked to get my child to where he is now. Great job to you and your school. Thanks for inviting me to participate!

Deciding on the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent will make. I hope the information contained on our school’s website will assist you in this process. Please contact the school for further information and a personalised tour of the school.

In the love of God
